Nigeria @ 56: Nigeria On the Right Path – Amosun
As Nigeria marks 56 years of Independence, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has expressed optimism that the country is on the path of greatness in spite of its current challenges.
“Yes, there are challenges, but in spite of these challenges, we are confident in the future of Nigeria and the ability of the current managers of the nation to steer it consistently on the path of greatness,” Governor Amosun said.
The Ogun State Governor stated this in his 2016 Independence Day celebration message issued in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
The governor added that, “in spite of the current economic challenges, Nigeria and Nigerians have every reason to celebrate the progress so far recorded.”
Governor Amosun said as a nation, “we are on the path of sustainable growth and development.
“We are winning the war against insurgency, winning the war against corruption and actually growing our non-oil revenue sources in a manner that clearly indicates that we are truly on the path to a diversified economy.”
In the midst of all these, Governor Amosun urged Nigerians, particularly Ogun State residents and workers, to contribute their own quota to national development by rededicating themselves to duty.
“More than ever before, we all need to come together and work in unity in order to contribute to the economic development of our dear state and Nigeria,” Governor Amosun said.
