Ondo Election: A cabal in the presidency forced my relocation to Abuja – Mimiko

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has alleged that there are some cabals in the presidency working incessantly to ensure that his former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) is not recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 26, governorship election.

Mimiko, particularly said the actions of those cabals had forced him to relocate to Abuja in order to ensure that their injustice did not stand.

Mimiko spoke in Akure, the state capital, at a programme organised by a group of youths, known as “Integrity Icons” to honour the Founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Dr. Frederick Fasheun.

 The Governor, who also chaired the occasion, said the cabals were afraid that if Jegede should be allowed to participate in the poll, he will defeat their candidates.

Jegede, who is the appointed candidate of Mimiko was removed from the lNEC list and replaced with Jimoh Ibrahim, who was declared by Justice Abang as the authentic candidate.
