Police Deploys 100 Female Agents To Borno IDPs Camps

Following recent reports about some officials sexually assaulting female internally displaced persons ( IDPs ), the Borno state Police Command has deployed over 100 female undercover detectives to all the IDPs camps in the state.

The female Police agents were charged to permanently spy on the activities of those involved in sexual molestation of female IDPs , investigate any form of prostitution , drugs trafficking and other social vices among the IDPs.

This was disclosed yesterday to Journalists by the Borno state Commissioner of Police , Mr Damian Chukwu at the Borno state Police headquarters while parading 30 suspects arrested within 3 months of his assumption of office over crime ranging from Armed Robbery , House breaking and theft , conspiracy and theft of domestic animals , membership of unlawful society among others.

CP Damian Chukwu said with the deployment of women police to the camps , victims who do not have courage to report their abuse will find it easy to interact with the agents being women like them for the unmasking of the culprits , adding that even crimes committed in the camps before will be investigated.

The 30 suspects paraded by the command he said were arrested by Federal SARS Operatives at different areas of the state following a distress call ,tip off and investigation.

“Among them is one Sadiq Ibrahim of Qwange ward in Maiduguri who was arrested by operatives of the Federal SARS after criminally trespassing and breaking into Ramat Polytechnic Café (8) , other offices and individual houses where he stole 32 Laptop computers valued about N5 million and other valuables.
