Soyinka in Closed Door Meeting with Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari, has for the first known time since his assumption of office, over a year ago met with Noble Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, on Thursday in a closed-door at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Literary Guru’s “August” visit, drew suspicion from various quarters as he is not known as a regular visitor to the Presidential Villa. It would be recalled that he was the first to call for national economic summit in the present regime.

The visit, which lasted up to an hour held no official reason.

Speaking to the State House Correspondents after the meeting, Soyinka who was surprised to see an array of reporters waiting for him for comments on the outcome of the meeting said tongue-in-cheek: “Wait, wait, wait, I didn’t come here to see you people. I came to discuss one or two things.
